Capel Rosso

Type of Dive

It is the southern tip of Giglio Island, and upon arriving at the mooring point you can admire its lighthouse; it is possible to find current, which very often gives the possibility to meet hunting fish, such as snappers or barracudas. After an initial part at shallower depth, the seabed descends until it becomes a wall full of red gorgonians, mixed with the large boulders that characterize the entire seabed of the island. This, being made of granite, does not have much sediment, ensuring an incredibly good visibility.

Moving further from the coast and from the first wall that descends from the tip, the navigation continues. It is recommended to use the DPV for this dive, as you move considerably away from the coast until you reach 90 meters of depth, where the colors and variety of species found (among others, splendid gorgonians and red coral) make the long navigation worth it.
