Punta Ischiaiola

Type of Diving

It is the southern edge of Cala Ischiaiola, at the limit of “zone 1” of the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago, which hosts and protects the “Grottoni di Giannutri” (caverns that host the red coral). Starting the dive you find a landslide of boulders inhabited by groupers, forkbeards and other fish which ends in a wall of yellow gorgonians, and also some branches of red coral from 30/40 meters, a species which in Giannutri is generally much deeper. Sheltered by the tip you can observe, at the beginning of the dive, a large meadow of Posidonia Oceanica.

THE WALL OF THE ANCHORS

Starting from a shoal that’s located close to the border of the National Park in front of the “Grottoni di Giannutri” (which host the red coral), you arrive at a wall that descends from 60 to 90 meters along which, in addition to the typical species that live at such depths, there are also some anchors dating back to different historical periods.
